THINGS TO
REMEMBER!
What is the skill level for the weekly tournaments?
Typically the teams that will register are the travel teams
from youth leagues that represent their club at regional
tournaments. Some clubs will combine players from several
travel clubs within their age group to form a new team for
participation at Golden Goal. Every attempt will be made to
provide separate competition for elite teams.
Why register now?
The
tournament field complex and residential village space is
limited to 36 teams per weekly session. Since there are
dedicated weeks for boys and girls in U12 through U15 there
are not many spaces available for the thousands of travel
teams in the United States. In addition, youth teams from
Canada and foreign countries have attended this unique
all-inclusive sports park. Registration will be accepted
strictly on a first received basis.

Is the Park Secure?
Security
is a primary precaution at Golden Goal. The Park and Athlete
Village are continuously patrolled and staffed with 24-hour
security staff members. The Athlete Village (with the
exception of Saturday morning when parents may assist in the
move-in process) is a controlled access venue where only the
registered and identified athletes, coaches, and referees
may enter. Any team member or coach leaving the park must
sign out and all players must be signed out by their coach,
parent, or designated guardian.
Does everyone attending need to complete the forms and
waivers?
Yes. The
necessary background information and waiver forms can be
downloaded from the home page of the website under ‘forms
and documents’ or by clicking
here.
Can players leave the Park?
Yes.
Participants at Golden Goal may be signed out of the park by
either the team coach, guardian or their parents to visit
the many attractions in Lake George and Saratoga Springs.
Should we bring our team uniforms?
Yes,
players will wear their team uniforms during opening and
closing ceremonies as well as for tournament games.

TOP
What is included in the player package?
Player
package includes lodging, meals, tournament play, team and
individual skills competitions, team building and mental
skills sessions.
For
players participating in the 6-day event, each participant
will receive a Hall of Fame Induction Ring and a team photo
from Golden Goal. There will also be prizes awarded to the
skills’ contest winners, and the Golden Goal Cup for 1st
and 2nd place teams.
What should each participant bring?
Each
cabin is equipped with bunk beds and space for belongings.
In addition to all of your usual tournament and practice
wear, attire at Golden Goal is very casual and comfortable.
In the region it can get chilly (50’s) at night so bring a
few heavier items to wear. Also, the summer season does
bring rain, so some type of rain gear is helpful. The
Athlete Village will be well lit, but as a precaution
against power failure you may want to bring a small
flashlight. Each person needs to bring sheets (or a sleeping
bag to place on top of the bunk bed), a pillow and
pillowcase, washcloth and towels. Also toiletries such as
liquid soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, and shampoo should be
brought with a portable carrier to bring to the bathhouses
that are adjacent to the clubhouses. The Department of
Health mandates that bathing suits and waterproof shower
shoes must also be worn to the bathhouses for showers.
How is laundry handled?
Golden
Goal has made arrangements for daily laundry wash and fold
service for a small weekly charge to have a fresh uniform
daily and limit the amount of clothing that you bring. As an
alternative, the coach or a parent can visit a nearby
Laundromat to handle the laundry needs for the team.

Besides the tournament games what else is there to do at
Golden Goal?
You can
have non-stop action at Golden Goal or relax when you need a
little down time. Some of the additional amenities include
the Golden Goal Challenge Course, Skills Contests
Experience, Golden Goal Arcades filled with challenging and
fun video games, music/entertainment, a well-stocked retail
store with a full line of Golden Goal apparel and
merchandise, practice fields, movie nights, fireworks,
special guest speakers, and vending machines. As a break
from all of the activities in the Park, participants under
adult supervision are encouraged to take advantage of the
many historic and recreational Adirondack area attractions.
Why was the Lake George area selected for Golden Goal?
Golden
Goal specifically targeted this region for the creation and
operation of the finest youth sports experience and
tournament in the world. Its summer climate is ideal for
youth sport participation and has hundreds of attractions
and events taking place throughout the summer. Participants,
under adult supervision and their families can take a break
from all of the activities in the Park and take advantage of
the many historic and recreational Adirondack area
attractions. We encourage families to join their son or
daughter attending a Golden Goal tournament and make this a
week-long action packed vacation at one of the most popular
summer tourist destinations in the United States.
Will we face many new teams?
Golden
Goal is recruiting teams and receiving registration forms
from all regions of the United States, and Canada. Each team
will be exposed to a cross-section of teams in the Athlete
Village and throughout the park during their stay. The
friends the meet and memories they experience will last a
lifetime.
BACK TO THE
TOP
Will my team have practice time?
Yes.
There are practice fields that you can schedule time for
your team when you arrive and register. In addition, as the
tournament moves into the later stages, fields will become
available for you to schedule practices or games against
teams that you meet at Golden Goal.
What if I have to take medication daily or have a medical
problem at the Park?
Golden
Goal has a complete medical facility with 24-hour medical
professional staff that will inventory and dispense
medication according the label directions, as directed by
your child’s physician. In case of accident, injury, or
other medical emergency, the highly trained on-site staff
are coordinated with Washington County medical facilities
that are fully equipped to deal with emergency situations.
